Position: Manager - Application Development
Department: Information Technology
Date Needed: ASAP
Description of Duties: Provide leadership to professional/technical personnel
involved in the design, development and systems analysis functions required to create new computer applications,
or installation and maintenance of software purchased from vendors in a complex technology environment.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelors Degree with major course work in Computer Science or a related area.
Experience/Skills:
7 – 10 years of experience (including experience in a management or team lead role)
using web development tools and architectures, and multiple platforms;
or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Experienced leader of technology employees including overseeing remote workforce.
- Working knowledge of programming languages, service- oriented architecture,
distributed client/server architectures, as well as legacy systems and overall integration of systems.
- Demonstrated skills with project management tools and methodologies, software development
lifecycle, and problem solving.
- Ability to review complex applications to determine their efficiency and effectiveness
in meeting needs of user departments.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively, both verbal and written.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
