Valuable Possessions
Valuable Possessions

Did you know that certain items such as jewelry, stamps, coins and furs have limited coverage under your Homeowner's or Mobile Homeowner’s Policy?

For example, if you have a $5,000 ring and it's stolen, you many only have coverage up to $2,500. This amount could be even less due to the deductible.

Do you have any collectibles, souvenirs, memorabilia, or other articles of art or rarity? You should specifically insure these prized possessions by adding the Inland Marine endorsement to your Homeowner or Mobile Homeowner Policy.

For example, if your Hummel™ were broken while dusting, your Homeowner or Mobile Homeowner policy would not pay for the loss. If you specifically insure the Hummel™ with Breakage Coverage, damage to the item would be covered from dollar one as it is not subject to a deductible.

In addition to jewerly, stamps, coins, furs and collectibles, here are some other classes that are often specifically insured on the Inland Marine Endorsement:

Musical Instruments Bicycles
Cameras Personal Computers
Oriental Rugs Guns
Golf Equipment and many more.

Benefits of Specifically Insuring Your Valuables:
  • Coverage written on Open Perils Basis
  • No deductibles for most classes
  • Easier loss settlement because we have a description of the item
  • Higher limits on certain property such as jewerly, stamps, coins, furs, and silverware
